1、interest作为“兴趣”时用作不可数名词，但可以加不定冠词。例如：
he feels no (not much, a great) interest in politics.
他对政治不（不太、非常）感兴趣。
he shows an interest in music. 他对音乐感兴趣。
2、interest作“爱好；引起兴趣的地方”讲时为可数名词。例如：
his two interests in life are music and painting. 他生平的两个爱好就是音乐和绘画。
3、interest 作“利害（关系）；权益；股份”讲时，为可数名词。例如：
an interest in a business 一个企业的股份。
4、interest作“利益”讲时，常用复数形式。例如：
put the interests of the workers before all else把工人的利益放在一切之首
5、interest作“帮；派；同行者”讲时，常用复数形式。例如：
the business interests 商界
6、interest作“重要（性）；重大”讲时为不可数名词。例如：
a matter of interest 一件重要的事情
7、interest作“利息”讲时为不可数名词。例如：
he lent me the money at 6% interest. 他以6%的息借给了我钱。
