附中简介四川音乐学院附属中等艺术学校创办于1954年，位于成都市新生路6号（川音锦江校区），是西南地区一所历史悠久、影响的艺术中专学校。
学校贯彻的教育方针，尤为注重学生综合素质的,在的同时，加强文化基础课教学和管理。积极开展形式多样、有利于中学生身心健康、积极向上的校园活动。到普通中学观摩文化课教学，聘请校外特级教师做学校的“学监”，请校外特级教师为高三学生作考前辅导等“走出去，请进来”的教学办法，学校教育教学面貌焕然一新，学生的文化课成绩在同类学校中名列前茅。近年来保持很高的本科升学率，并向各艺术院校输送了许多品学兼优的学生。
“附中锦江校区”学制设有六年制和三年制中专，分设键盘、民族器乐、西洋管弦乐、打击乐、声乐、作曲等30多个。
建校以来, 附中学生在、国内重大比赛中了多项大奖。其中有影响的是
1994年，陈萨（女）在“北京钢琴比赛”中，获少年组名；
1996年，吴驰参加荷兰李斯特钢琴比赛荣获第三名（第二名空缺），打破了自1956年刘诗昆先生获此奖后四十年的沉寂，为祖国赢得了荣誉；
1997年，兰维维在“天华杯少年琵琶比赛”中荣获一等奖；
2000年，李云迪凭《e小调协奏曲》夺第十四届肖邦钢琴大赛；
2006年，宁峰在世界小比赛的意大利第51届“帕格尼尼”小比赛上，荣获名和两个特别奖；同年，文薇获第九届西贝柳斯小比赛的第三名，成为这一赛事举办以来，选手的好成绩；
2009年，潘林子参加德国魏玛第六届李斯特钢琴比赛（成赛），此比赛仅设三名奖的第三名。
2009年，古静丹在德国第九届达姆斯塔特肖邦钢琴比赛上第二名的好成绩。
2017年，匡俊宏获第66届德国ard音乐比赛吉他赛项第二名和听众奖（名空缺）。
经四川省和学院委批准，从2005年起在原有传统音乐类基础上增设了舞蹈、美术、影视表演类和流行音乐，并正式成立具备完整学校建制的直属教学机构——四川音乐学院附属中等艺术学校（新都校区）（后简称“附中新都校区”）。
