alloy20镍基合金具有良好的热加工性能，钢锭锻造加热温度1110℃~ 1140℃。合金的平均晶粒尺寸与锻造变形程度和最终锻造温度密切相关。
alloy20镍基合金具有良好的焊接性能，可原电弧焊、氩弧焊、电阻焊和钎焊等各种方法连接，大型或复杂的焊接结构件在溶焊后应在870℃退火1h，以消除焊接应力。
alloy20镍基合金须在热处理之后进行机加工，由于材料的加工硬化，因此宜采用比加工低合金标准奥氏体不锈钢低的切削速度和重进刀进行加工，才能车入已冷作硬化的表层下面。
