     aa-m提供两个同时测量点：一个位于显微镜焦平面上，另一个位于仪器的光学头位置，比如，显微镜输入之前。测量的这两个脉宽值进行对比决定了显微镜光学元件色散带来的脉冲展宽。显微镜中超短脉冲的大多数应用是表征显微镜焦点处光束的时间和空间轮廓。这些测量结果对任何实验都很重要，脉冲越短，非线性成像过程（双光子激发）的效率越高，实验成功需要的激发能量越少。在决定样品曝光时需要光束参数表征，确保图像和正确的强度水平，因为错误的值可能会导致样品损坏。
     仪器使用usb接口，可以连接windows操作系统的计算机。提供多种软件工具。采集的脉宽数据可视化，可存储或导出txt或dat文件。可以计算并实时显示自相关函数和***终fwhm飞秒脉宽。而且，可以高斯或双曲线拟合，也可查看强度函数。统计分析功能可以对几个单独的脉冲测量结果进行对比。
