at the beginning of the 20 century, neugerman family made pianos in thefollowing factories: schwelm and berlin. the company was taken over by thefourth successor jonas.
piano making of the company has been always very mature, while theirpianos have been always the favorites of concert performers and composers.however, the economic crisis in 1930 enabled the output of neugerman pianos tobe reduced to be only one-twelfth of that at the beginning of the century. itwas still no better in 1940, and the plant buildings, music hall and files ofthe company were seriously damaged in the second world war.
