i have recently attended my best friend’s 18th birthday, which was moving and meaningful. i think everyone present did enjoy themselves in the celebration for the following reasons. first of all, that was my friend’s 18th birthday, a celebration of adulthood. teenagers as old as 18 is mature enough to take legal responsibilities, to be legally responsible for all the social effect from the personal behaviours. it also means that the teenager should, from this day on, be independent enough to take care of the personal life, as independent as an adult. moreover, on the special moment, my friend has received regards from parents and friends for her achievement in her life. regarded as the first step into human life, 18 is the first stage making full preparations for the future life, vital to the latter achievement.
