白刚玉是以优质氧化铝粉为原料，在2050℃高温下熔炼而成，它具有纯度高、自锐性好、磨削时发热量小、耐酸碱、高温稳定性好、气孔率低等优点。
电熔白刚玉是生产中高档不定型和定型耐火材料的主要原料，常用于钢包浇注料、铁沟料、耐火喷补料等不定型耐火制品；在定型耐材中，它主要用在刚玉砖、刚玉莫来石质匣钵、精炼用刚玉多孔塞砖、整体喷枪、炼钢连铸三大件、超高温工业窑炉内衬等刚玉制品。它又是磨料磨具行业优质原料，主要用在砂轮磨具、抛光研磨行业，在军工、造船、玻璃、航空、航天、光学仪器、核能等行业有广泛的前途。

白刚玉段砂是指1-0mm,3-1mm,5-3mm,8-5mm,5-10mm,10-20mm……主要用作耐火材料等行业，另外还有8-16mesh，16-30mesh……粒度砂又称为号砂，有f12~f220，如f12，f30，f54，f90，f100，f220等，主要用于磨料等行业。
