this paragraph gives an overview of the expectedsystem performance requirements and the related values.the application requiresthe following functionality, that the system is able to transmit sound from thebaby unit wireless towards the receiving parent unit (or more one parentunits).

reliable operating range:
outdoor: >300 meter, in open field at regular babymonitor function. sound is still recognizable at 200 m.
outdoor: >150 meter, in open field at battery low indicationlevel, sound is still recognizable at150 m.

2.2.1 power supply:
use ac/dc adapter 6v 300ma or 4xaaa alkaline batteries
2.3.2 three control buttons
power on/off button
press this button and hold over 2 seconds, baby unit goesto on. press this button and hold again over 2 seconds, baby unit is back tooff.
night lights on/off control button
press this button and hold over 0.5 second, the nightlight goes to on. when baby unit is powered by batteries only, the night lightwill goes to off after 5 minutes automatically. if baby unit is powered byac/dc adapter, the night-light will keep in “on” status continuous on till thisbutton is press again.
press this button and hold over 0.5 seconds whennight light “on” , the night light will turn back to off
volume control buttons (up & down)
press “up” button once, the volume level will increaseone step. if press and hold this button for 2 seconds, the volume level isincreased continuously until to max.
press “down” button once, the volume level will reduceone step. if press and hold this button for 2 seconds, the volume level isincreased continuously until to min.
total volume level is 10 steps. the default level is “5”.
when the volume level changes in each step, it sounds onebeep. if the volume goes to max or min, it sounds two beeps.
2.2.3 three indications
there is one dual color led (green/red) to representsthree indications.
power on indication: when bay unit is power on, the greedcolor led lights or blinks. where, the green lights when baby unit has builtthe link (communication) with parent unit. the green led blinks if baby unithasn’t link with parent unit.
link indication:the green lights when baby unit has builtthe link (communication) with parent unit. the green led blinks if baby unithasn’t link with parent unit.
battery low:when the battery level is low, the red ledlights and green led is off.
2.2.4 temperature measurement for babyroom (option):
baby unit has a temperature sense to measurement babyroom temperature. this temperature shall be sent to parent unit and show onparent unit’ lcd display.
the detected temperature requirement is
temperature range is 0 ~40 c degree. the temperaturereading shown parent unit’ lcd display is from “00.0 to 40.0”.
the allowed temperature tolerance is +/-1 c degree.
when the baby room temperature is over 40 c degree,parent unit’ lcd display shows “hi”. if the temperature of baby room is low 0c degrees, the parent unit’ lcd display shows “lo”.
the temperature unit can select in “c” degree or “f”degree.
the temperature response time: 5 seconds?

one talk-back button (ptt)
press and hold this button, the parent unit will changefrom the receiver mode to transmitting sends the voice to baby unit. and babyunit changes from transmitting mode to receiver mode immediately and thespeaker open automatically and sound the voice sent by parent unit.
release this button, the parent unit is back to thereceiver mode and baby unit is back to transmitting mode automatically.
2.3.3 five indications
