生命周期成本
l   现在，离心泵的采购过程也需要考虑其生命周期的成本。
l   离心泵在其使用周期过程中产生的总费用，密封系统占有相当大的比例。
l   这就是为什么不带轴封的离心泵越来越多的在化学工程和加工技术中被用于输送介质。
l   计算一个离心泵在其工作寿命中的总费用主要考虑投资成本、安装、能源、维护、服务和维修费用。
l   因为一个泵的购买成本一般只占总成本的5%-10%，所以从中长期方面考虑泵的生命周期成本非常重要. 屏蔽泵和磁力泵与普通机械密封类泵相比，生命周期成本低。
   根据basf及其它化工公司的经验，各种泵的平均故障间隔时间（mtbf=平均故障间隔时间）如右图所示。这些数据显示屏蔽泵（cmp）比带有机械密封的离心泵有较高的mtbf值。
