bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis ( b.t.i) is one of the most widely used microbial mosquitocides in the world.
the mechanism of b.t.i is as follows: the active ingredients (insecticidal crystal proteins, icp) can release poisonous titanium bydecompounding under alkaline condition and enzymolysis of protease in the larval midgut, which would lead to the paralysis of larval and destroy the balance of kalium ions.it has good effect on thelarval of culex, aedes, anopheles, mansonia and black fly, etc.
