eero aarnio said about the bubble chair: after ihadmade the ball chair i wanted to have light inside it and so ihadthe idea of a transparent ball where light comes fromalldirections. the only suitable material is acrylic which isheatedand blown into shape like a soap bubble. the bubble was blownandwhen the cushions were added the chair was ready, and the namewasobvious: bubble. eeroaarnio在完成ballchair后，忽然有一灵感．他要创作一张能让光完全透入的椅子，这样人们就可以在自然光下轻松地阅读了．最后，他发现亚克力材料能让他的构想成为现实，经过多次的实验，一张完全超想象的椅子诞生了，不锈钢链将这可爱的椅子悬挂客厅中，象一个浮在空中的大泡泡，设计师称它为bubble.

eero aarnio 1932 年生于芬兰，于 1954 年至 1957年求学赫尔辛基的institute of industrial arts，并在 1962年成立个人工作室，从事室内设计与工业设计。他的许多作品享誉全球的国际知名度，并获得许多工业设计奖项。例如，他在 1963年设计了著名的 ballchair，这是张以玻璃纤维制成的球形椅子；很快地这张椅子被大量地制造生产。而玻璃纤维，成为aarnio设计时最喜欢使用的素材。其它代表作品还包括有糖果椅（pastilchair）、蕃茄椅（tomotochair）和极富未来感的泡泡椅（bubblechair），是波普风格爱好者不可不知的设计大师之一。
