integrateddiagnosticsystem(ids)是福特公司2006年推出的诊断系统，是唯一完全覆盖所有现在和将来的福特，林肯，水星以及马自达车型。ids替代了过去的worldwidediagnosticsystem(wds)诊断系统,具有wds的全部功能。作为一个新的诊断系统，ids能够诊断未来的车型。

ford vcm ids (vcm) is a high performance, rugged, vehicleserialcommunications gateway. this device provides multiplevehicleserial communication interfaces to meet the requirements ofallford motor company vehicles.
the vcm unit is housed in a magnesium enclosure with atough,protective, plastic cover for the pcmcia expansion slot whichcan,for example, be used for wireless lan cards ormemoryexpansion.
the vcm device contains five led status indicators to providetheuser with a visual mode of internal vcm, vehicle, and hostdevice(e.g. ngs classic's t-handle, pc, pocket pc/pds, andlaptop/ids)operation.
the vcm also has detachable cables for connection toindustrystandard high-speed host interfaces as well as to thevehicle undertest.
the vcm 2007.7 dvd includes both ids (integrateddiagnosticsoftware) and pds (portable diagnostic software)tools.
diagnostic coverage includes most 1996 2008 my (produced19952007) ford, lincoln/mercury & mazda vehicles.
application overview
integrated diagnostic software (ids) is the nextgenerationdiagnostic tool. ids integrates wds software modified torun on anoff-the-shelf laptop with the vehicle communication module(vcm)currently used in ngs+ and pds, and a new vehiclemeasurementmodule (vmm).
vehicle diagnostic connectors
the vcm 16-pin dlc cable is used to connect the vcm tothevehicle. the vcm and vmm connect to the laptop throughtheethernet-usb adapter cable (h406/h416).
interface devices
the interface devices that are used with thisapplicationare:
1.vcm vehicle communication module: this device provides alllinkbased functionality including: data logger, self test,servicefunctions, module configuration and programming, etc.
2.vmm vehicle measurement module :this device providesthefollowing functionality: oscilloscope, digitalmulti-meter,ignition system test, fuel system test, and sgm.
note that the application will detect the interface devicethatis connected to the laptop. indicator icons will appear atthebottom right-hand corner of the ids screen when the vcm and/orvmmare connected.
